Inspired by so many great records of the 1960s, in which members of the band wouldn’t necessarily perform on the song, Armadillo was created at home using session musicians. Erik Bleich became a one-man “Wrecking Crew” performing acoustic & electric guitars, vocals, and even using an acoustic baritone guitar as fuzz bass. Parker, legendary GarageBand percussionist (and all around chill dude) laid down the groove and shook that tambourine like there was no tomorrow. The song itself, melds the CanCon rock of bands like Sloan & The Waking Eyes with the bubblegum enthusiasm of the Oneders’ early work.
The band’s roots (or tentacles) can be traced back to the fall of 2019, when “In Basements” promoter Shawn William Clarke assembled the group in an effort to combine the wholesome magic of Al Grossman’s “Peter, Paul & Mary” with the unhinged ferocity of Malcolm McLaren’s “Sex Pistols.” Thus, calling theire namesake up from the Abyssal Zone to bless humanity with joy and wonderment.

Everything Shawn William Clarke does is pretty. Pretty guitar playing, vocals, songwriting, and with this album, a lovely sonic landscape. Perfect music for drinking your morning coffee while gazing out the window. Track 1 is the most calming and hopeful music I've heard in a really long time. Bet Smith
