I'm stuck at home. Like everyone else. I live alone... so it's especially lonely... but I'm happy to have my music and memories.
I decided to revamp an old classic.... this is the title track off my very first album Thank You For The Ride. I was young and inexperienced when I recorded it but it was a song that poured out of me quickly... in 10 minutes... and as songwriters we know that that rarely happens. It's a song of gratitude ... a goodbye song like many of my others but this one always seemed different to me. It has more hope in the melody... more grace and acceptance in the lyrics... and I've always wanted to record a new version... so here it is. From my heart and the back room in my apartment.... my first ever production. Thanks to the mixing and mastering genius of Scott Lake who graciously aided me in this creative quarantine endeavour.
Introspective, homespun folk tunes from John Donne that feel informed by the sugary bleakness of '80s and '90s indie pop. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2023

Everything Shawn William Clarke does is pretty. Pretty guitar playing, vocals, songwriting, and with this album, a lovely sonic landscape. Perfect music for drinking your morning coffee while gazing out the window. Track 1 is the most calming and hopeful music I've heard in a really long time. Bet Smith
