I wrote this tune after hearing a song by an old lover playing from a car at a red light. I hadn't seen that person for a couple of years but just hearing the song brought all the old feelings back. So much so I thought for a second the person playing the song in their car was my old lover. I guess you could say it was also the realization that the person was always a stranger to me, and it was the music that I was drawn too. I recorded it for the mixtape at my desk in Vancouver on my iPhone late at night so there wouldn't be a lot of other noise. David Newberry added a few overdubs from his isolation in Toronto.

Everything Shawn William Clarke does is pretty. Pretty guitar playing, vocals, songwriting, and with this album, a lovely sonic landscape. Perfect music for drinking your morning coffee while gazing out the window. Track 1 is the most calming and hopeful music I've heard in a really long time. Bet Smith
